In the 1983 elections, the Socreds won 35 seats (gain of 4 seats) and retained majority governing status. Retired as Leader in August 1986. MISCELLANEOUS: Son of British Columbia Premier W.A.C. Bennett (served 1952-72). Acquitted of criminal insider trading charges, May 1989. |
