Leader, Alberta Progressive Conservative Party (October 1985 - December 1992). In 1986, the PC won 61 seats (loss of 14), but held majority governing status. In 1988, the PC won 59 seats (loss of 2, including Getty's own seat) and held majority governing status. Getty resigned as Leader in 1992.
